4. Description Abstract

Maharashtra is part of mega diverse country India. Internally, it is richly diverse in itself. From biodiversity to cultural diversity, Maharashtra has unmatched variety. Festivals in this state are varied too. One of the festivals is Dassera. This is celebrated by greeting each other with leaves of Shami. Apart from festive importance, Kovidar or Kanchanar has immense medicinal value too. Ayurveda people routinely use this drug by many aspects. Present paper elaborates use of Kovidar by Vaidyas and tribal people.
